Martina Thuresson

Artist, PlaygroundSquad 2018

Hi!

My name is Martina Thuresson, I’m a 30 year old student from Karlskrona with a longstanding interest for art. Currently, I’m a student at PlaygroundSquad, aspiring to become a prop artist. Leaning a bit more toward hardsurface, with a special fondness for old or fictional objects.

My first experience with 3D was with the program Blender, along with Photoshop. But nowadays I also use programs like Maya, Mudbox and Substance Painter.

When it comes to games, I'm a huge Nintendo fan who enjoy game series such as Legend of Zelda, Super Mario and Pokemon. I also like to play PC games from time to time such as World of Warcraft and Ghost of a Tale. Another hobby of mine is to write and illustrate stories.

Game project 1: Elemental showdown

For this project I took part in creating concepts, as well as coming up with the design for the characters that would later be used in the game. Later on in production I would do modeling, texturing and animate two of the characters and create the spawn points.

Game project 2: Crit-out!

On this one, I took part in creating concepts for the environment, logos, signs and props. I later on modeled and textured many of the neon-signs seen in the game, as well as a few of the buildings. I also helped with placing out one of the districts of the city.
